Αγιογράφος Κωνσταντίνος Ξενόπουλος

Ο αγιογράφος Κωνσταντίνος Ξενόπουλος γεννήθηκε στο Στρυμονικό Σερρών το 1959. Σπούδασε στην Αθωνιάδα Εκκλησιαστική Ακαδημία του Αγίου Όρους όπου και διετέλεσε καθηγητής αγιογραφίας για τέσσερα χρόνια. Το 1990 ιδρύει και διευθύνει την Καραπιπέρειο Σχολή Βυζαντινής Αγιογραφίας στην Κατερίνη. Τον Ιανουάριο του 1991, προσκεκλημένος του Σεβασμιωτάτου Μητροπολίτου MINSK κ.κ. Φιλαρέτου, μεταβαίνει στη Ρωσία. Το Σεπτέμβριο του 1992 αναλαμβάνει τη διεύθυνση της νεοϊδρυθείσας Σχολής Βυζαντινής Αγιογραφίας της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Σερρών και Νιγρίτης, στην οποία και διδάσκει μέχρι το Μάιο του 1997.

Ο Μακαριότατος Πατριάρχης Δημήτριος του εμπιστεύεται την αγιογράφηση εικόνων που δώρισε στις επίσημες περιοδείες του. Ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης κ.κ. Βαρθολομαίος του αναθέτει την αγιογράφηση ναών στη Φινλανδία, Ουγγαρία και Πολωνία. Στις 19 Ιουνίου 1996 εκδίδεται το βιβλίο του «Κόπος και Σπουδή» που περιέχει μαθήματα κλασικής αγιογραφίας.

Το Δεκέμβριο του 1997, ο αγιογράφος, κυκλοφορεί το πρώτο τεύχος του περιοδικού της Σχολής «Ο Πανσέληνος».

Στις 20 Σεπτεμβρίου 1998 τιμάται με το παράσημο του Μεγάλου Τάγματος του Αγίου Αμνού της Αρχιεπισκοπής Φινλανδίας και στις 17 Οκτωβρίου 1998 με το παράσημο της Αυτοκεφάλου Εκκλησίας της Πολωνίας.

Από το 1999 διδάσκει στη Θεολογική Σχολή του Α.Π.Θ. την βυζαντινή αγιογραφία αλλά και στο Μουσικό Γυμνάσιο Πιερίας.

Τον Ιανουάριο του 2000 εκδίδεται το δεύτερο βιβλίο του αγιογράφου με τίτλο «Η αξιοπρέπεια ενός πινέλου». Από το καλοκαίρι του 2000 έως και σήμερα διδάσκει βυζαντινή αγιογραφία στο sommer Akademie στο Moosburg της Αυστρίας. Από τον Ιανουάριο του 2001 συνεργάζεται με τον Μακαριστό Πατριάρχη Αλεξανδρείας κυρό Πέτρο. Συνεχίζει την συνεργασία του με την Α.Θ.Μ. Πάπα και Πατριάρχη Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ. Θεόδωρο. Έχει ιστορήσει τον Πατριαρχικό ναό στην Αλεξάνδρεια και με ψηφιδωτά το νέο Πατριαρχικό Μέγαρο.

Τον Ιούνιο του 2001 τιμάται από τα Μ.Μ.Ε της Πολωνίας για την προσφορά του στα πολιτιστικά δρώμενα της χώρας με δίπλωμα και μετάλλιο.

Από το Σεπτέμβριο του 2006 διευθύνει την νεοϊδρυθείσα Σχολή Βυζαντινής Αγιογραφίας της Ιεράς Μητροπόλεως Αιτωλίας και Ακαρνανίας.

Τον Μάρτιο του 2007 κυκλοφορεί το νέο του βιβλίο με τίτλο: «Ο Άγιος Αντώνιος στη Βυζαντινή τέχνη» (σύντομος βίος και μάθημα αγιογραφίας).

Άρχων Αγιογράφος Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας

Το Μάιο του 2008 η Α.Θ.Μ. Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ. Θεόδωρος του απένειμε το οφφίκιον του Άρχοντος Εικονογράφου.

Το Μάιο του ιδίου έτους εκδόθηκε το τέταρτο βιβλίο του «Ταξιδεύοντας με την Τέχνη στον Άθωνα».

Διδάσκει επίσης την εικονογραφία στην Σουηδία, στην Φιλανδία και στην Ιταλία.

Από το 2005 διδάσκει Αγιογραφία στην Λαϊκή Ακαδημία της Ιερή Μονής Valamo στη Φιλανδία και από το 2013 στο Ορθόδοξο Ίδρυμα Πνευματικής Κληρονομιάς Πάντων των εν Ασκήσει Διαλαμψάντων Αγίων Πατέρων του Αγίου Όρους (Athos-Säätiön Ystävät) [Kaikkien Athosvuoren Pyhien Perintösäätiö] που βρίσκεται στην πόλη Lammi της Φιλανδίας.

Από το 2013 διδάσκει Αγιογραφία στη Σουηδία, στην πόλη Örträsk.

Τον Μάρτιο του 2015 ολοκληρώνει την φιλοτέχνηση σύνθεσης ψηφιδωτού με τον γιό του Χρυσόστομο, στον ιερό ναό Αγίου Γεωργίου Καΐρου του Πατριαρχείου Αλεξανδρείας.

Τον Μάϊο του 2015 κυκλοφορεί το τελευταίο του βιβλίο «Οι Ζωγραφιές της Θάλασσας», ένα ιστορικό μυθιστόρημα για το Άγιο Όρος.

Τον Μάιο του 2016 τιμάται από τον παγκόσμιο οργανισμό της Unesco για την προσφορά του στην τέχνη και τον πολιτισμό όλα αυτά τα χρόνια της καλλιτεχνικής του πορείας.

Τον Ιανουάριο του 2020 καλεσμένος σε εκδήλωση του Παλατιού, για να ευχηθεί ο Βασιλιάς για το νέο έτος στους αρχηγούς των Χριστιανικών εκκλησιών στο Αμμάν της Ιορδανίας, ζωγράφισε τον εξοχότατο Βασιλιά κ. Abdullah. Διαβάστε περισσότερα πατώντας εδώ.

Έχει φιλοτεχνήσει ναούς στις πόλεις Lecce, Tricase, Corsano, Taurisano στη Νότια Ιταλία καθώς και στο Μοναστήρι “Monastrero SS. Trinita” στην πόλη Alessano της Ιταλίας.

Έχει αγιογραφήσει ναούς και μοναστήρια σε όλη την Ελλάδα.

Είναι μέλος του Επιμελητηρίου Εικαστικών Τεχνών Ελλάδος.

Είναι παντρεμένος και πατέρας τεσσάρων παιδιών. Ζει και εργάζεται στην Κατερίνη.

KONSTANTINOS XENOPOULOS

Konstantinos Xenopoulos was born in Serres Strimonico in 1959. He studied in the Athonias Ecclesiastical Academy where he also worked as a professor of Iconography for four years. He is the director of the Karapiperios School of Byzantine Iconography which he established in 1990 in Katerini. Invited by his eminence the Metropolitan of Minsk k.k. Filaretou, he moves to Russia in January of 1991. In September of 1992, he becomes director of the newly established School of Byzantine Iconography of the Holly Metropolis of Serres and Nigrita in which he also teaches until May of 1997.

He was entrusted by his beatitude the Patriarch Dimitrios, to create the iconographies which were gifted during his official tours. The Ecumenical Patriarch k.k. Vartholomaios confined him with the task of the iconography of temples in Finland, Hungary and Poland. On 19^th June 1996 he publishes the book ‘Kopos kai Spoudi’ which contains courses of classical iconography.

In December of 1997 he launches the first issue of the School’s magazine named ‘O Panselinos’.

On 20^th September 1998 he is honoured with the medal of the Order of the Holly Sheep of the Archdiocese of Finland and on 17^th October 1998 with the medal of the Autocephalous Church of Poland.

Since 1999 he teaches in the Secondary School of Music in Pieria.

In January of 2000, he publishes his second book with title ‘The Dignity of a brush’. Since 2000 he teaches byzantine iconography in Sommer Akademie of Moosburg in Austria. From January of 2001 he collaborates with his beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria k. Petros. He continues his collaboration with his beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa k.k. Theodoros. He has created iconographies for the Patriarch Temple in Alexandria and mosaics for the new Patriarch Mansion.

In June of 2001 he is honoured with a diploma and a medal, by the polish mass media, for his contribution in the nation’s cultural events.

Since September 2006 he is the director of the newly established School of Byzantine Iconography of the Holly Metropolis of Aitolia and Akarnania.

In March of 2007 he has published his new book with title ‘Saint Antonios in Byzantine Art’ (short biography and iconography courses).

ARHON ICONOGRAPHER OF THE PATRIARCHATE OF ALEXANDRIA AND ALL AFRICA

In May of 2008 his beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa k.k. Theodoros honoured him with the orthodox ecclesiastical office of the Arhon Iconographer.

In May of the same year he published his fourth book named “Travelling with the Art in Mount Athos”.

He also teaches iconography in Sweden, Finland and Italy.

Since 2005 he teaches iconography in the Folk Academy of Valamo Monastery in Finland and since 2013 in the Orthodox Foundation of the Heritage of All the Saints of Mount Athos (Athos-Säätiön Ystävät) [Kaikkien Athosvuoren Pyhien Perintösäätiö] which resides in the city Lammi, in Finland.

Since 2013 he also teaches iconography in Sweden, and specifically in the city Örträsk, in Lapland Sweden.

In March of 2015 he completes with his son Chrisostomo the composition of the mosaics that will decorate the holy temple of Saint George in Cairo that pertains to the Patriarchate of Alexandria.

In May of 2015 he publishes his last book “The Paintings of the Sea”, a historical novel about Mount Athos.

In May of 2016 he is honored by the global organization of Unesco for his contribution to the art and culture throughout the years of his artistic carier.

In January 2020 Konstantinos Xenopoulos was invited to a Palace event made for the leaders of the Christian churches in Jordan, and he made a portrait of His Excellency King Abdullah.

He has been confined with the task of the iconography of temples in the cities Lecce, Tricase, Corsano, Taurisano in South Italy and in the Monastery “Monastrero SS. Trinita” in the city Alessano of Italy.

He is in the middle of icon painting to Holy Temples and Monasteries all over Greece.

He is a member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece.

He is married and father of four children. He lives and works in Katerini.
